Trone is a lifelong champion for working people
“David Trone is a highly successful business owner who hasn’t forgotten his humble beginnings growing up on a family farm in rural Maryland,” AFGE District 4 National Vice President Dan Doyle said. “David understands that working people have been struggling for too long under a political and economic system that rewards corporations and the wealthiest individuals, and he will fight to level the playing field as our next Representative in Congress.”
More than 147,500 federal employees live in Maryland – caring for veterans, supporting our military, ensuring Medicaid and Medicare recipients get their health care benefits, and protecting our natural resources. There are more than 95,000 current and retired federal workers in the 6thDistrict.
“David understands the critical work that federal employees do every day for our country,” AFGE District 14 National Vice President Eric Bunn Sr. said. “He supports providing federal workers with the pay raises and benefits they deserve and opposes cutting funding for federal programs and services that all Americans rely on.”
“I am proud be endorsed by AFGE, which represents federal workers in the Sixth District and across the country,” Trone said. “The Sixth District has more federal employees than almost any district in the country and we need leaders in Congress who understand how important they are to our country. I look forward to working with AFGE to ensure that federal workers get the pay and benefits that they deserve.”
