Who else is ready for this year to be over? 2020 has been an especially challenging year for so many of us, and I for one am looking forward to putting it in the rearview mirror. I’m focused on what the new year will bring, and I’m optimistic that we’ll make real progress as we tackle the issues in front of us. 2021 will bring us a new President, a new Congress, and hopefully an end to the pandemic that has devastated our country. But despite all of the changes going on around us, my priorities remain the same.
As I begin my second term as a Member of Congress in just a few days, I’m reminded of the commitments I made to you two years ago, all that we’ve accomplished, and all that still needs to be done. With President Biden’s leadership and the hard work from my colleagues in Congress, I’m confident that together we can:
Transition out of the COVID-19 pandemic, begin to rebuild our economy, and help American families recover from the devastating effects of the virus.
End the addiction crisis, reduce the number of Americans killed by this terrible disease, and continue to support those who are struggling with substance use.
Reform our unjust criminal justice system and ensure that we create an equitable and fair America for everyone.
Invest in our mental health system and provide support for Americans struggling with isolation and other problems.
Above all else, my top priority is serving the people of Maryland’s 6th District. I’m committed to leading with compassion, civility, and competence, and that means being present and showing up for the people that I serve. If my team and I can be of assistance to you this new year, don’t hesitate to reach out. Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 240-907-2392.
Wishing you peace and health this new year,
